Overview

Screen Ping is a screen monitoring utility that runs entirely on your local device. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Collection

Screen Ping does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

The application operates entirely offline and does not communicate with any external servers, cloud services, or third parties.

Local Data Storage

Screen Ping stores the following data locally on your device:

Configuration Data

  • Region settings (screen coordinates, region names, pause/mute states)
  • Window position and size preferences

This configuration data is stored in your local app data folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\ScreenPing\) as plain JSON files.

Screenshots (Optional)

If you enable the screenshot feature for a monitored region, Screen Ping saves PNG images to your Pictures folder (%USERPROFILE%\Pictures\Screen Ping\). This feature is enabled by default and is entirely under your control.

Network Usage

Screen Ping does not require an internet connection and makes no network requests during normal operation. The only external links in the application are optional help and developer website links that open in your browser only when you click them.

No Telemetry or Analytics

Screen Ping does not include any telemetry, analytics, usage tracking, or crash reporting. Your usage of the application is completely private.

Third-Party Services

Screen Ping does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services.

Data Security

All data remains on your local device under your Windows user profile. Screen Ping does not transmit any data over the internet.

Your Control

You have full control over your data:

  • Configuration files can be viewed, edited, or deleted from your local app data folder
  • Screenshots are saved to a visible folder in your Pictures directory
  • Uninstalling the application does not automatically remove locally stored data; you may delete the folders manually if desired

Children's Privacy

Screen Ping does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
